Eleuthero ginseng, also known as Siberian ginseng, is a member of the ginseng family of plant roots. There are three different types in general, American, San qui and Oriental ginseng. There are differences between the tree types; however, the general effects are essentially the same. Ginseng has been used as a general cure all, to an energy booster and sexual enhancer as well as to assist in the treatment of hair loss.
Siberian ginseng is not a true ginseng as Soviet scientists manufactured it in order to find a less expensive and more abundant solution to ginseng. When they introduced the herb into herbal medicine treatments in America, they gave it the name Siberian Ginseng. The main compounds of ginseng called ginsenosides can have a varied number of effects for example while one variety can lower blood pressure, another can raise it.
Ginseng has reportedly a lot of different beneficial properties for the nervous, endocrine and cardiovascular systems of the body. This herb is also said to be anti-inflammatory, aids in the strengthening of the body’s immune system, and is just good for the body in general. In this way, eleuthero ginseng is also an aid in hair loss treatments.
A key factor of hair loss is the overall health of the body and DHT, or Dihydrotestostrone which is a testosterone derivative that bonds to the hair follicle hindering it’s growth. Other factors in hair loss are hormones, genes, and the age of the person in question.
Eleuthero ginseng helps with male pattern baldness by improving the overall health of the hair, the hair follicle, and the body in general. This herb has been praised in many cultures over time as a great way to restore the balance of the body. Ginseng has the ability to help the body get over stressful situations and return it to a normal balance. Essentially what this means is that, if taken by a person with high-blood pressure, the ginseng would actually help lower the blood pressure. The reverse is also true of that statement; if taken by someone with low-blood pressure, it could raise it up. If the body were making too much DHT, the ginseng would help to lower it to a safer level for the hair follicles.
By boosting the immune system of the person taking the ginseng, the body would be able to defend against harmful items in the blood and tissues thus helping to prevent an overabundance of DHT. Not only that, but eleuthero ginseng is also believed to have beneficial effects on hair in general by making it healthier and grow faster.
As with any herbal supplement, the FDA has not fully accredited eleuthero ginseng with any or all of the above-mentioned functions. Many studies have been completed sowing the outstanding benefits of this herb and it has been in use for centuries all over the world by many different cultures. Aside from helping the body fight hair loss, eleuthero ginseng is just good for a body in general.
